Lead-Free Solder
Solder is used to create a non-permanent electrically conductive connection between non-ferrous metals. The relatively low melting point of lead/tin (Pb/SN) solder is a perfect match for sensitive electronic components. For applications where lead is not desired, one good substitute is "no lead" solder - usually a mixture of tin with a trace amount (0.3%) of copper. Note that most so-called "silver solders" are lead/tin with about 2% silver added.
